Oxford to London

I'm currently reading a very interesting book that has been lent to me. It is a diary of five young men, who, in late July of 1875 set off for a three week trip around the rivers and canals of West England, in a rowing boat. 

Whilst the cover title suggests "....from Oxford to London", the first page expands on this and  the trip goes via Warwick, Gloucester, Hereford and Bristol. Initially I thought this was definitely one for the rowers, however, it is a very interesting read and  as a boater it is intriguing to see how things have changed (Or not).
